My goal as a journalist, in any capacity, is clarity.

Journalism is about providing readers with information they can understand and use. I come from a family full of teachers, and while I didn’t pursue classroom teaching, I can provoke discussion and promote learning through my writing and reporting.

In that vein, I’m currently an education reporter and community editor at Chalkbeat Indiana, a nonprofit news website covering K-12 schools and issues of educational change in Indianapolis, as well as education policy across the state.

I graduated from Mizzou BJ ’12, BA in Economics ’12 and MA ’14.
