This morning I braved the bleak winter landscape that is MU and drove my poor car to the Missourian. It was a not a fun experience, but reporting today actually was.

I suppose I am a little behind on this blog. Thankfully, I gave myself some cushion with four stories last week so I am not as pressured now while I am working on my multimedia project.
This project initially terrified me. It was like J2100 all over again. But surprisingly, it has been kind of fun. My partner, Andrea, and I were lucky enough to work with a wonderful woman named Anita. She is a passionate pet-owner who was more than happy to welcome us into her home to shoot photos and audio. It’s been an interesting week.
I started off this week somewhat anxiously anticipating my first General Assignment shift at the Missourian on Wednesday. Tuesday afternoon, however, my beat editor calls and asks me to come in. For this semester, I will be a reporter on the education beat at the Columbia Missourian. Part of our responsiblities are to blog about our reporting experiences for the benefits of our professors, editors and peers. I expect to update this sub-section of my blog at least twice a week to keep everyone updated on what I am working on.
